Overlooking Victoria at the Grosvenor

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Those who are looking for the best fine dining in London need to check out the Grosvenor hotel. Of course this is just my opinion, but needless to say I never went hungry during my London stay.

I booked this little en suite room simply for a week during the month of June. This is when the weather was beautiful and there were plenty of activities to get into. I was able to rent a car and easily maneuver around the city. Big Ben was right around the corner as well as the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abby. For less than $65 a night, this is a great little hotel to stay in. It is centrally located and will fit the needs of any food snob out there just like myself! Next time I plan on making my trip a little bit longer, if time and money permits!

Checking into the Bustling Brunel Hotel Bayswater London

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I originally wanted to come to Paddington simply because it is so lively and awake. Once I arrived I noticed that there are many places for coffee or tea. Because of this discovery I made a point to find a hotel that was near everything I wanted to do. The Brunel Hotel Bayswater London was rated one of the best hotels around.

The price of a room was very reasonable and well within my price range. I stay at this hotel for 3 days at the rate of $61 a night. When I checked in the desk clerk even made a point to tell me that I was right around the corner from the Paddington mainline station. This Victorian home turned into a hotel was a beautiful change of scenery from Southern California. My bedroom was perfect for one person and even included my own satellite television and hair dryer. I was also able to make telephone calls to my friends from my room without issue.

When you are on a budget and traveling, Paddington is a great place to nestle into. The Brunel Hotel had just about everything that I needed in a three start hotel. Even on a budget I was able to eat breakfast for free every morning at the hotel and enjoy a hot cup of fresh coffee or tea! This will definitely be my first choice the next time I find a window to come back to the city of London!

Hampstead Britannia Hotel

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Before I hit college I decided to go to London with my older sister on a two week summer trip. Our parents did chip in for the plane tickets, but the rest was up to us. When it came time to book the hotel, I look for a hotel that was not only cheap and fun and interesting as well. I came across the Hampstead Britannia Hotel and was quite intrigued by the look and feel of this location.

The hotel was located down the street from Hampstead Village. I was especially looking forward to checking out the history and making a stop at the Primrose Hill. Check-in was fairly painless and we had our bags carried up to our room. The room was quaint and not as roomy as we hoped, but who needs to sleep in London? We decided to walk around our hotel and get a good idea of where everything was at. We picked up maps and brochures for various attractions. The front desk was very helpful when we asked for recommendations and a cab ride. Regents Park was a blast to explore. We met various locals and decided to hit some restaurants and clubs with them. Getting back to the hotel was easy at the end of the night where we decided to take a look at the room service menu.

Being an 18 year old in a foreign country, I had a blast. I was able to go out, and have fun without spending a lot of money. Booking the room was easy as well as affordable and I cannot wait to come back when I get older

Staying Central at the Ramada Hyde Park Hotel

Friday, September 4th, 2009

When you are 23 years old and trekking through Europe it is always nice to stay in a hotel room. For me, I was looking for a little bit of luxury and I had some money to spare. I booked a room at the Ramada Hyde Park Hotel for $70 a night.

What I enjoyed most about the hotel was the fact that it was close to everything and quiet. Guests were respectful of each other which made sleeping more enjoyable. I enjoyed central fine dining in Notting Hill, made famous by the movie starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. One of my favorite hotels so far!

Four Star Treatments from Thistle Euston

Friday, September 4th, 2009

It was not hard to find a four star hotel located in London. In fact, it was hard to figure out which one was going to work for us. We decided to book a room at the Thistle Euston. The four star hotel had a great price, only $72 a night!

The hotel was located right between central London and Euston Station. Being so close to London was great for my brother and me. There were plenty of landmarks and museums to check out through the week that we stayed. I enjoyed the luxury of the room that we booked as well as the free amenities that came as well. I received a newspaper of my choice for free each morning as well as a slamming breakfast. Definitely a great way to start the day when you find yourself in London! This trip was a trip I will never forget and the hotel will need a revisit from me soon!

Feeling Alive in London

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Staying at Bloomsbury Park in London was definitely a trip to remember for my husband and me. We had heard that there is a lot of live in this location so we definitely wanted to check it out. We are a young couple, only in our late 20’s so we wanted a hotel with some action. Bloomsbury Park was located in an area that seemed to never stop.

Of course, I wanted to book a room in a hotel that was close to local shopping so that I could relax. My husband wanted to check out some of the history and the museums in London. Of course there were plenty of historical locations that we could both check out together. When we walked into the hotel from the airport I immediately noticed the decorating and the feel. I felt incredibly warm and welcome when I arrived as well as when I left. Because my husband is self employed, he still needed to be able to check on some various work projects. Our hotel room was equipped with a fast wireless internet connection. All my husband had to do was turn on his laptop and connect to the hotel’s internet connection. A couple of evenings during our 2 week trip, we ate and drank at the Cellar Bar.

On our down time we decided to go for walks through the Covent Garden. We even got to take a chance to check out the Theatreland that is one of the most historical landmarks within London. Overall, I would say that we would stay at this great hotel. We have also recommended it to our friends who are looking to honeymoon. Breakfast every morning that was hot and fresh was an excellent treat to wake up to. Of course, we did take the time to check out the local cuisine throughout London. This hotel had a great location and had plenty to offer the guests that booked a room. It was definitely worth the $68 average price per night!

Elegant Stay at the Hotel Russell

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Russell Square is a very nice place to stay, especially if you are traveling with your best friend. We booked a one week stay at the Hotel Russell right after college graduation. After saving for about 6 months, we were able to get our hotels and book a room at around $75 a night. The Hotel Russell was easy to reserve online, all we needed to do was check in when we arrived!

Getting from the airport to the hotel was incredibly easy. The lobby of this hotel is exquisite and breathtaking. Our jaws literally dropped at the sight of the bright chandeliers and mosaic floors. From there we were taken to our non smoking room and left to settle in. the rooms were beautiful and came equipped with a satellite television, hair dryer and plenty or storage for our luggage. After showering and napping we were ready to get out there and see what London had to offer. The hotel itself has a restaurant and 2 great bars. There were also a number of other places to dine; all we needed was a cab. Overall, we had a blast staying at this hotel. If we can swing the trip next year, we will be coming back for a second stay at the Hotel Russell in London.

Getting the Royal Treatment at Royal National Hotel

Friday, September 4th, 2009

When staying at the Royal National Hotel all I wanted was the London Beer Garden. This hotel was located in a way that allowed me to get to and from the beer garden whenever I felt like it through the week. In order to work off my hangover I took full advantage of the swimming pool at this hotel. I also took a day off from beer to enjoy a local bowling alley that was located right around the corner. Next time I make the trip to the London Beer gardens I will be spending the $65 a night to stay at the Royal National Hotel.

Great Place to stay at the Express by Holiday Inn Earls Court

Friday, September 4th, 2009

My daughter and I decided to take a graduation trip to London for 2 weeks. This was our family gift to my daughter for finally making it through high school! Because we have a family of 6, we needed to book a hotel room that was cost efficient but still safe. This is where I stumbled upon the Express by Holiday Inn Earls Court. I was familiar with Holiday Inn when we took our family trip to California.

The Express was perfect for my daughter and I, location and price wise. We paid an average of $57 a night which was excellent. The hotel was large enough for all of the guests and there was plenty of space for us as well. We booked a room with 2 double beds. The room included internet access which allowed my daughter to talk to her friends at night online. Another great feature to this hotel was the fact that it was non smoking in the rooms. This made breathing a lot easier when we hung out in our rooms. When we wanted to venture out we took a cab to check out the Kensington Gardens and Earls Court. Cabs were easy to get which made it a lot easier to get around and see the sights! We also made sure to get some shopping done down at the Westfields Shopping Center. Overall, the hotel was centrally located and the front desk clerk was very helpful in giving directions.

When we returned I still had money in my pocket which was great. As for staying there again, if I ever find myself in London again I will be booking another room in the Express by Holiday Inn Earls Court. The location was wonderful as well as the free breakfast that we received every morning!

The Royal Garden Hotel is Blooming

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I must say I was looking for more when I stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel. I had heard such great things about Kensington High Street and I wanted to get a firsthand look at this location. While there are some bad points to this spot, there were also some things that I did find very convenient.

One of the best things about this hotel is the fact that it is basically right across the way from the Kensington Gardens. These gardens are famous and have been filmed in various movies and television shows. The hotel is considered to be a five start hotel and I decided that the $135 American dollars was worth it. On the other hand, for $135 dollars a night, you should be able to stay in a hotel that offers much more amenity-wise. The room had a TV, DVD player, CD player and mini bar which are great if you just want a day to relax and watch films.

For the most part, I did enjoy my stay at the Royal Garden Hotel. One of the main reasons why I stayed at this hotel is the fact that it did posses a five star rating. Next time I find myself in London looking for a room for the night, I will be booking at the Royal Garden Hotel.
