10 Years Later at the Hotel Russell

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I stayed at the Hotel Russell about 10 years ago when I graduated from college. It was here that I met my first husband. 10 years later I decided I wanted to see London once again and see the Hotel Russell once again. I booked a room online for 2 solid weeks and packed my bags as soon as I could.

When I arrived at the Hotel Russell I was eager to see that the customer service was still as friendly as ever. The young girl working behind the counter was very quick and efficient but polite and professional at the same time. The hotel has changed in a way to look more new and modern. It still had a nice sense of warmth like it did ten years ago.

The décor has been updated just a little bit, but the morning breakfast each morning was still as delicious as I remembered it. I went out to the Kensington Gardens and even stopped back at Big Ben for old time’s sake. Getting around was still very simply due to the fact that the Hotel Russell is centrally located. I think another ten years from now I will be coming back to this hotel. The past two times have been incredibly enjoyable as well as memorable. This particular hotel comes highly recommended!

Enjoying the Sites at the Royal Garden Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

There is something about a hotel nestled in a garden scene that I absolutely love. I am a single woman who loves to travel and loves to stay at the Royal Garden Hotel. This is my third stay at this hotel and I finally have a chance to write my first review.

I must say I have never had a bad stay at this hotel. I am in love with London and all that it has to off those who live and visit here. The last 3 check ins have been painless and effortless. The rates of the rooms have stayed consistently affordable as well. I did not pay more than $200 for my 3-night stay. For those looking for a place to stay, check out the Royal Garden Hotel. You can book your room in advance online just like I did!

Perks at the Grosvenor

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Within the community of Victoria we came across a sweet little hotel called the Grosvenor Hotel. My husband was here in London simply for a business trip. I insisted on coming due to the fact that I needed a break from everyday hassles. The Grosvenor was a great place to stay for both of us on business as well as pleasure.

When we looked online we learned that this hotel was 4 stars. We paid less than $100 a night and half of that was taken care of through my husbands company. Overall I considered the price to be incredibly decent and would not mind paying the full amount. Upon check in, we were given our room keys as well as the room service menu, which I took full advantage of!

While my husband worked I made sure to get the best experience that I could get here in London. I met a few new locals and ate and drank at fabulous restaurants with food that is never served the same in the states.

If I had known that there were babysitting services offered at this hotel I would have brought my 3-year-old daughter, Eva with me. Of course this is something I simply will keep in mind the next time that we make this trip. My husband an I enjoy morning breakfast and coffee, compliments of this hotel during our entire stay.

Christmas at the Hampstead Britannia Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

While looking around for a place to stay in London is tumbled upon a hotel in Regents Park called the Hampstead Britannia Hotel. For as little as 30 Euros a night you could have a place to crash for at least a week! As a starving student I made sure to take advantage of this great rate.

When you pay a small amount of money like this for a hotel stay you tend to think that you are not going to get as much quality as you might like. When I stayed at this great hotel I noticed that I was getting a lot of perks from this hotel. I hung out in Regents Park during the day an date and drank at some of the greatest cafes I have every been to.

Upon checking out of this hotel I felt very relaxed and calm. I was fully focused and ready to go back to college for the fall semester. You do not have to spend a ton of money if you can find hotel rates such as this one. I came with little money in my pocket and still managed to have one of the best times of my life!

Late Check-In at Brunel Hotel Bayswater London

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I only stayed in this hotel for two nights and I barely stayed there unless to get to sleep. I decided to take a quick trip to London due to the fact that I needed to see my girlfriend who was going to college in London. I found the Brunel Hotel Bayswater London and decided to book it as soon as I could.

This hotel was great for those who are on short notice. You can get a room for a great rate and the people there are incredibly friendly. Any questions that I had for the front desk were answered immediately. Once I was checked in and ready to go I went out and let my girl show me the sites. Check out was incredibly easy and I made sure to take advantage of the free breakfast that was offered each morning.

Anyone can book a room at the President Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I took my grandmother back to Europe in order to learn more about our family history. My grandmother had told me about a hotel called the President Hotel that she had stayed in when she was a young girl. I decided to take a look online and see what I could find before I booked the room.

After looking around I finally got a room at the President Hotel and we were on our way. We checked in and rented a car from the front desk so that we could explore. I got a lot of great pointers from the man at the desk clerk about driving on the wrong side of the road. Once we got the keys we were on our way!

After a full day of traveling around London it was great to come back to a nice warm room. We had great amenities such as satellite television, room service even a nice mini bar. I took the time to enjoy a nice hot bath before we boarded the plane back to El Paso.

A Family Vacation Stay at the Ramada Hyde Park

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I decided to take my entire family on a vacation through Europe. My two daughters were just at 14 and 16 years of age, which seemed like the proper time to go. Our first stop was going to be located smack dab in the middle of the city of London. The Ramada Hyde Park seemed like the best place for us.

Obviously with a family of four, we were going to be on a bit of a budget. We booked a single room with 2 queen beds. The room was nice as well as inviting. We were also centrally located so that we could go anywhere we wanted! Definitely worth the money to stay at this hotel.

College Trip to Central London and the Royal National Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Traveling around before college with your best friend is great, especially when you get the best hotel accommodations you can afford. After saving up for the last 2 years, we decided to spend out time in London at the Royal National Hotel. When we arrived we were in for quite a surprise. Not only was the price of the room completely affordable at about $70 the city was amazing.

The hotel overall is absolutely gorgeous. When we arrived our bags were taken and we were checked into our room. We have no trouble at all with our online reservation. Once we got into the room we notice it was a tad bit small. Of course we were not too concerned about sleeping while hanging out in London.

We nursed our hangovers the next morning with free coffee and breakfast that was provided for us each morning. After that, we had the front desk call us a cab and we were on our way. As for coming back to this same hotel I would after I save up my cash for another 2 years!

Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Cumberland Hotel Marble ArchMy wife and I got stuck in London while waiting to catch a connecting flight to Scotland. It turned out we would not be able to get on a plane for at least 2 days. Instead of staying at the local airport hotel we decided to spend our own money on a hotel in Central London. One of the flight attendants had recommended that we take a look at the Cumberland Hotel located in Hyde Park.

For 70 Euros you can get a lot out of a hotel room. The hotel was located right on the corner and our room just happened to overlook the famous Hyde Park. We made sure to take a wander through the park before we left for Scotland. Actually, during our short stay we did get to see a lot and the hotel staff was very helpful with recommendations.

We took advantage of the fine dining that the Cumberland hotel had to offer. It was very pleasant to be able to sit and have a bottle of wine or two and not have to worry about calling a cab or driving home. In the morning we enjoyed a free breakfast as well as great coffee and tea. Though we only stayed here fro a few nights, we still managed to get a lot of sightseeing out of the stay entirely.

We have already planned another trip to Central London only this time we will be staying for about a week. We have booked the same room that we stayed at in the Cumberland Hotel.

Check out the Thistle City Barbican

Friday, September 11th, 2009

When I came to London the last thing that I wanted to do was sit around and drink tea and eat crumpets. I was newly 24 years old and ready to take on what central London had to throw at me! Before flying over there I decided to book my hotel room in advance. I was only staying 2 nights in a hotel and the other 39 nights was undetermined. I decided to stay at the Thistle City Barbican.

This hotel was actually recommended to me and I must say I did enjoy it very much. I took a dive in the indoor pool, went out and saw the sites, typical tourist stuff. The staff was very helpful and friendly even though I was a young American.

The last two nights of my trip I decided to wind down in the same hotel. I took another dip in the pool and even spent the extra cash on some hot room service from the kitchen downstairs. This was a trip I will never forget for as long as I live.
