Adventures at the Ramada Hyde Park

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I got stuck in London for a couple of nights due to bad weather and cancelled flights to the United States. I decided to just book a room for a few nights until the weather cleared. I had some extra time as well as extra money so I stayed at the Ramada Hyde Park, which was a great 4 star hotel. Due to the bad weather, I did my best to get out and about but when the rain came down too hard, I retreated to my room. I enjoyed watching British cable and even ordering a movie or two. I ordered hamburgers from the room service menu and just did my best to relax. I had great views if I ever got bored and wanted to see what the world was doing outside. I gazed out the windows for hours at least before deciding where I should get to. The hotel clerks and staff were very friendly. I asked that all of my calls be put on hold for a day just so that I could have some time to myself. I never heard the phone ring once in fact during my entire stay. Looks like the staff here really knows how to get the message across! At the end of this adventure I must admit I was a little sorry to have to leave so soon. The next time I find the extra time I will make my way back to the Ramada Hyde Park. I can see that there is still a lot of shopping and relaxing that needs to be done on my end

Ramada by Holiday Inn Earls Court

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Booked a room here for two nights while on a short business trip. Due to the fact that I am an American man I decided to choose a hotel that I was already familiar with. I had stayed at a Holiday Inn hotel a couple of different times so I stay at the Ramada by Holiday Inn Earls Court. The room was nice and spacious and I did have some great services offered to me. There were conference rooms I could use and I was even able to get involved in a quick conference call. The service here definitely topped the charts in my book. Arthur M. New Jersey

Sleeping next to the Tower of London

Friday, September 11th, 2009

We didn’t lose our heads! When you think about a tower you automatically think about dungeons and dragons and damsels in distress. When my husband booked us a room at the Tower, I was a bit worried to say the least. Of course my views were changed when we actually got off the plane and took the cab to the hotel. I felt like I was in another world while in London. Our hotel was right around the corner from some fabulous tourist attractions. I was looking forward to being so close to Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament as well as all of the shopping that central London is famous for. Check-in was extremely easy for us simply because we booked out room online. The hotel had our reservation there were no bumps in the road. Once we got up to our room, we unpacked and hung out for a little while before exploring the hotel. I was very fascinated by the architecture and the design of such a lovely building. My husband took me down by the St. Katherine docks. This is a famous location for a lot of yachts and expensive bats. If you had the money, then you could easily take a trip around the world in one of those boats! We also enjoyed staying in our room to simply wind down and relax. Towards the end of our trip we spent a couple of afternoon napping in our beds. We had a large room that had great curtains for blocking out the annoying sun when we wanted to sleep. Room service was very quick as well as delicious. All around, this turned out to be one of the best trips of my life. In 10 years, I plan on taking my husband back to this very same hotel!

Sleep like a Queen at Strand Palace Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

The strand hotel was a perfect place to stay if you have the extra money. Luckily for me, my mother pad for our stay at the Strand Palace Hotel in London. From what the online ad said about this hotel I expected there to be a lot more than there was, or perhaps I was just too picky. But I must say as we ventured and enjoyed our trip, I began to enjoy the hotel room that we had booked as well. I loved the fact that we were right around the corner from some priceless shopping locations. We must have spent hours down there just window shopping and trying clothes on that we would never be able to afford. From there, we could enjoy plenty of fine dining restaurants. It seemed that everywhere we went there was something fun to do and we were not very far from our hotel. The room itself was just like any other room. We enjoyed free coffee and tea each morning, but rarely ate the breakfast. We rented a car through our hotel and drove to the locations we were dying to see. As far as staying at this hotel again, I would if I had time to save up some cash. This hotel had a very nice look and feel to it. Each room was warm and welcoming. We never felt like we were in a bad neighborhood or in any danger whatsoever which is very important to tourists

Kingsway Hall

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I was only in London for 2 days but I wanted to make the most of it. For one night I decided to stay at the Kingsway Hall in Covent Garden. This is a sight that I was dying to see, and how many other times will I find myself in the heart of London? After paying for my room I dropped off my bags and headed out there door. Within 24 hours I was able to see the beautiful Covent Gardens, the Royal Opera House even Leicester Square! There was no trip quite like it and I full intend on coming back!

Honeymoon at the Hotel Russell

Friday, September 11th, 2009

As newlyweds my husband I were treated to a honeymoon trip to London. All of our family and friends had graciously chipped in for travel and living expenses. Our room was book at the Hotel Russell, which was located in Central London. Once we arrived at the hotel we realized we had stumbled into a 4 star piece of art! The hotel itself just looks like something out of a history book. We chatted with the front desk clerk for a little bit then headed up to the room. Overall, the room and the stay we experience was great. We enjoyed seeing the sights in London and would definitely come here again. Thanks to all of helped make this great trip possible!

Quiet Evenings at the Cavendish London

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Sometimes a father and son need to get out of the country for a little bit to regain their sanity. My son and I are the only men in a house full of 4 other women. One summer I decided to take my son to Europe for a month long vacation before he started college. This was a perfect way to bond with a son and send them loose off into the real world. We decided that we wanted to stay in London for at least a week. My son seems very fascinated by all of the history and everything this location had to offer. My wife did all of the research on our hotel and found that the Cavendish London was going to be our best bet. This was a 4 star hotel that was just around $100 a night. When we arrived the first thing we did was get out into the city of London. We did not even waste any time unpacking our bags. We decided that we should eat first at one of the local cafes next to our hotel. From there, we ventured off to Piccadilly Square and enjoyed everything and everyone that came out way. We also made sure to rent a car and drive out to the countryside as well as check out what was going on at the Houses of Parliament. After a long day of sightseeing it was nice to have a lavish hotel to come back to. There was so much help offered to us during our stay that we decided to extend for a few more nights. The price was right and so were the amenities that this hotel had to offer.

A Room with a View

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I decided to take my girlfriend of 3 years to London, England in order to ask her to marry me. I had done a lot of research online and found that Corus Hotel Hyde Park was a great hotel and location for couples and tourists in general. I decided to book the room for about $70 a night, which seemed very reasonable. Our plane ride left us feeling incredibly exhausted and the first thing we wanted to do was take a nap. Our concierge took our bags up to our room while we were in the middle of check in. Once we arrive in the room, we instantly fell into the king size bed that waited for us. After a nice long nap and a hot shower we were ready to go. We decided to take a look at the local dining within Hyde Park. There were plenty of restaurants that we could enjoy without having to spend too much cash on a cab. Most of the time during our stay we either walked around or took a cab. Walking seemed to save us the most amount of money. We enjoyed room service after I had implemented the proposal. She of course said yes and we treated ourselves to anything that we wanted. The staff at Corus Hotel were ready and willing to help us with any of our needs. Definitely a trip that my new fiancée and I will never forget.

Enjoying Elegance at the Radisson Edwardian Grafton Hotel

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Once I hit 40, I decided to get out of town for a bit and enjoy being a woman alone in the city of London. Of course I made up my mind that I could not stay in a 3 star hotel so I chose a 4 star location by the name of Radisson Edwardian Grafton Hotel. The hotel seemed to be near just about everything I was looking for. The look and feel of the hotel was great as well. The staff was friendly and willing to help me with any need that I had. I figured for about $90 a night, it was worth every penny. After I got unpacked and settled I decided that I was ready to explore a little bit. I took the time to look around the hotel and see what it had to offer. I wandered around outside to find that I was in the perfect location for sightseeing. I definitely would take the chance to come up here on a whim again!
